Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist "Prototype" manga will be published as a one-shot in June in the July issue of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine. While the Fullmetal Alchemist manga ended last June in Shōnen Gangan, a side-story was drawn by Arakawa last September. The Fullmetal Alchemist one-shot is part of Monthly Shōnen Gangan's 20th anniversary celebration. Since debuting in 2001 as a serialized manga in Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine, Fullmetal Alchemist has since been collected in books, adapted into animated television series, a film, video games, and toys. It has also been voted most popular anime in Japan of all time in two TV Asahi web polls. The May issue of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine is announcing on Tuesday that the July issue will publish Hiromu Arakawa'sFullmetal Alchemist "Prototype" Manga as a one-shot in June. Arakawaended the main Fullmetal Alchemist manga in Monthly Shonen Gangan last June, although she did draw a side story in September. She then launched a new series called Silver Spoon (Gin no Saji) in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine last Wednesday. Monthly Shonen Gangan will also have a new series from Saki creator Ritz Kobayashi and Bamboo Blade artist Aguri Igarashi, as well as a new original one-shot manga from Working!!/Wagnaria!! creator Karino Takatsu.
